Sabarimala: Kerala Police to reward women officers who arrested right-wing woman activist

A top state police official said that the reward is being given for their prompt action in Sabarimala.

The Kerala Police has decided to reward women police officers who were involved in the arrest of Hindu Aikya Vedi president KP Sasikala, accused of mobilising people to carry out protests in various parts of Kerala over women's entry in Sabarimala. They will be awarded with good service entry and a cash award.

As per the document accessed by India Today TV, the ten women police officers from various police stations will get rewards up to Rs 1,000.

A top state police official said that the reward is being given for their prompt action in Sabarimala.

"Women police officers were deployed in Sabarimala for the first time. It was the first action that they have effected. It was a good work done by the women police for the first time in Sannidhanam and so the reward is being given. The temple was shut and we had asked Sasikala to return. When she refused, we had to use force and take her into custody," the official told India Today TV.
