Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers have been guarding the electronic voting machines (EVMs) strong room in old Bhopal jail since Friday in shifts due to the fear of tampering with the EVMs after the power supply snapped in the strong room, shutting down CCTV cameras and LED screens that were displaying live status of the EVMs.

The Congress and the AAP men believe they are guarding the political fate of candidates by watching over the EVM strong room. The opposition parties are apprehensive that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can resort to any malicious means to emerge victorious.

The Congressmen protested today morning after LED screens and CCTV cameras outside the EVM strong room stopped working on Friday. AAP candidates and activist too camped outside the old jail through the night.

President of Congress's Madhya Pradesh unit Kamal Nath appealed Congress candidates to monitor the EVMs till December 11, the day of result declaration.

Arun Yadav, president of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee also said that that the democracy is in danger.
